Non-nuclear density gauge PQI 380

Transtech Systems has many years of experience in developing equipment for road construction in particular. Among the latest product is the PQI 380 (Pavement Quality Indicator). Major steps have been taken with these series to be able to replace the nuclear units.

The PQI 380 do the same as the well-known nuclear equipment for measuring the compaction of asphalt, but on the basis of non-nuclear technology. The PQI 380 works on the basis of electromagnetic waves and with this technology is completely harmless to the environment and the health of the person who handles it.

This device measures accurately the density and temperature of asphalt. The PQI 380 is equipped with a touchscreen and equipped with user-friendly user interface. The position of the measurements can also be registered using the built-in GPS module.

Method:

With the PQI 380, a one-time database of the different mixtures is built up. A comparison is made with a measurement at the location where a drill core is later taken. This sets the "offset" associated with that mixture, this data is stored in the device. As soon as this mixture is selected again, the PQI is immediately ready for use.
